Terms and Conditions / Inclusions

1.       Rates are Inclusive use of Homestead and its facilities.

2.       Check in – 2pm. Check out-11am

3.       All beds have pillows – own linen and doonas/sleeping bags towels must be provided by guest.

4.       Firewood will be provided- this will be a generous allocation for your stay. If extra firewood is required this will incur an extra charge.

5.       Homestead will be cleaned after your departure- it is expected that it is left in a reasonable condition when you depart.

6.       Please remove all rubbish- there is no rubbish collection in the Valley.

7.       Dogs are welcome- however we ask that they are kept off furniture and preferably outside, we ask that any dog droppings are picked up and disposed of.

8.       Horses are welcome- with prior arrangement with management. WE WILL REQUIRE ALL GUESTS WHO INTEND TO PARTICIPATE IN HORSE RIDING ACTIVITIES TO SIGN AN INDEMNITY WAIVER PRIOR TO ARRIVAL.  We ask that you pick up all manure and any hay scraps and deposit in designated log bin near the saddle shed. Please be mindful of weed transfer and make sure horses are emptied out before arrival and hooves are free of seeds.

9.       All feed must be provided and weed free. Visiting horses are permitted to be released in the smaller holding paddocks across the creek from the homestead and around the wood shed only.

10.    All horse owners and Commercial operators are expected to hold their own public liability insurance for their horses.

11.    Care of horses and dogs are your responsibility and must be in your care at all times. Kangaroos and wild dogs are present in the Valley and can be an issue with your animals. The area has many hazards including holes, wooden stakes and barbed wire fences.

12.    Grassed areas around the homestead and yards are to be kept intact. Please avoid driving/parking vehicles on grassed areas and be mindful in wet conditions to not bog up the areas with horses or vehicles.

13.    Please respect the owners locked sheds and cupboards

14.    Telephone is for emergency use only. There is an honesty tin near the phone- please leave $$ in the tin if phone has been used.

15.    Please provide your own provisions, as it is hard to keep track of supplies and basic essentials after each guest departure.

16.    You have access to the majority of the 380 acre property to explore and enjoy.

17.     Please respect neighbouring properties and do not enter without permission. Bridle Trails and tracks located throughout the Howqua hills and Howqua valley area and can be easily accessed from stockyard and are open for public use.

18.    Fishing- the lake and stockyard creek are crucial fish nurseries for the Howqua river, please refrain from fishing in these areas-  the Howqua river is a short walk from the homestead

19.    Once you have arrived and unloaded your gear- we highly recommend parking your vehicle either near the horse yards or behind the cattlemen’s hut bunkroom- these will ensure you get the full experience of the beautiful vista from the house.

20. We have recently experienced falling trees and limbs around the homestead yard, please take care. Whilst we take many precautions to maintain the tress, all trees are prone to drop branches or fall over in any weather. Avoid staying/camping and parking under trees.

I acknowledge that I have read and fully understand these Terms and Conditions. I understand that by making a booking online or over the phone that I give a complete and unconditional release of all liability of the proprietors and employees of Stoney Stockyard Pty Ltd to the greatest extent possible under the law of Victoria in the event I or members of our group suffer any death, personal injury or loss or damage of possessions. I agree to indemnify the proprietors and employees of Stoney Stockyard Pty Ltd against all claims made by any other person against the proprietors and employees of Stoney Stockyard Pty Ltd in respect of any injury loss or damage arising out of or in connection with being a guest at the Stoney Homestead and farming property.

By making a booking I acknowledge that I have read, understand, and agree to abide by all the conditions and requirements in this agreement.
